Skills for Life

Room 7 students have been learning defence and attack ball skills, while taking part in the Skills For Life programme.

Magic Science Show

Oakura School students were lucky enough to enjoy a show titiled the Magic World of Science. It was an absolutely fabulous show as it combined magic tricks with scientific experiments.

Room 7's Rubbish Audit

The Whero reading group did a rubbish audit after lunch today as part of our Reduce, Reuse, Recycle topic. They found Room 7 students threw 31 pieces of plastic, 30 pieces of paper and 39 pieces of food scraps into the classroom rubbish bin.Our goal is to reduce the rubbish in our rubbish bin down to zero waste. We will be working on ways to achieve this throughout the term.

Anzac Biscuits

Room 7 enjoyed making and eating Anzac biscuits. We learnt that most probably the wives and girlfriends of the soldiers at war made these biscuits and sent them via ships for them to enjoy on the battle field. As the recipe does not contain eggs, the biscuits were fine to eat, even after a two month journey on a ship.

Hockey Skills

Room 7 students are very fortunate as they are taking part in hockey skills sessions every day this week. Fun times!

These wonderful cricket players are holding the trophies they won this weekend for winning the primary school cricket division. Awesome efforts boys.
